A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will support an upgraded community hub in the heart of the Caboolture region a reality, thanks to a $3 million election commitment to restore current council facilities at 2 Toovey Street.
Upgrade works are set to include the reconfiguration of the building to suit the needs of prospective tenants, including improved accessibility throughout the precinct to ensure it is fit-for-purpose for the new lessees.
Caboolture PCYC currently occupies space at the Toovey Street facility but thanks to previous commitment by the Albanese Government, the PCYC will move to a new home this year.
Under the City of Moreton Bay’s plans, prospective tenants include Caboolture -based community groups such as the Spiders Boxing Club, the local Men’s Shed and Lions Recycle for Sight.
The new facility will also provide the City of Moreton Bay with the opportunity to offer other community groups across the region the chance to use the new facility and extend their services to even more locals.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
