New lighting and water infrastructure will be delivered at Stafford’s Gibson Park under a re-elected Labor Government, ensuring players at Brisbane Brothers League Club, Stafford Cricket Club and other teams across Brisbane, have a safe space to play and meet up with mates.
Labor Candidate for Brisbane, Madonna Jarrett joined Senator for Queensland, Anthony Chisholm at Gibson Park today to announce the $350,000 election commitment.
The installation of new lights will improve player and participant amenity and safety for training and competition, enabling a wider variety of sports to be played and opening up the facilities to a more diverse group of participants.
Labor’s investment in the Park’s water infrastructure will also double the storage capacity at Gibson Park to 725KL, reducing operating costs, saving water and helping improve the playing surface.
Labor will continue to build Australia’s future with local investments in community sporting facilities like this one in Brisbane’s North.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
