A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will put $2.7 million towards upgrades for the Valley District Cricket Club’s plans for its facilities as the club looks to cater for more young players across Brisbane.
Labor Candidate for Ryan, Rebecca Hack and Labor Candidate for Brisbane, Madonna Jarrett welcomed Senator for Queensland Anthony Chisholm to the Ashgrove Sports Ground today to make this announcement.
The election commitment will help deliver a new indoor training facility so players and supporters can head down to the club and train regardless of the weather.
Established in 1897, Valley District Cricket Club is one of Queensland’s oldest cricket clubs and is one of the largest cricket clubs in Australia by player numbers, boasting over 1,600 players.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
